Against The Grain Melbourne Feb 2010After the all-time biggest attendance record at Brown Alley ever for the last Against The Grain show with Stanton Warriors - ATG returns to Brown Alley on Friday Feb 26 with Deekline, CtrlZ and Skool Of Thought plus a spread of Melbourne’s finest.

Deekline

Deekline needs no introduction to Against The Grain fans. His ‘09 tour had punters crying out for more, thus Deekline returns to Aus early in 2010 to dish up his signature blend of booty breaks.

Ctrl Z

Ctrl Z are a dance production duo hailing from London. Bursting onto the scene in 2005, they have since become known for their unique brand of break beat infused electro-punk. 2010 is shaping up to be a huge year for the pair with the launch of their own label, kicked off with their simply massive remix of Freestylers’ anthem “Roughneck”.

Skool Of Thought

Over the past 10 years Skool of Thought’s DJ sets have consistently raised the bar for other DJ’s while raising the roof on dancefloors the worldover. His Brown Alley sets have been going from strength to strength and having recently had his head down on his forthcoming Natural Selection compilation, punters can expect some seriously fresh beats and beastly basslines for this one.

Skool of Thought ‘Natural Selection’

Natural Selection Covers

Skool Of Thought and Against The Grain return in 2010 with a new compilation of heavyweight breaks which will be released in 4 parts over the coming months.

Natural Selection has a killer instinct. From the stealth-like approach of Phaeleh’s ‘Selecta’ which creeps and pounces with precision, to the straight-for-the-juguler approach of Affinity’s remix of Freestylers’ ‘Slammer’. Natural Selection stands tall; proud in its breakbeat roots, safe in the knowledge that its scene remains strong, and comfortable enough for the selection to briefly explore other territories. Check out the sneak previews from Freestylers, Afghan Headspin, Phaeleh, Stenchman and Skool Of Thought in the ’sneak preview player’ now, click to launch.
